The large three level beach house was completed in 2004 and can accommodate several families, 4 couples, 15 children, 1 baby (sleeping 23).

The house features two master bedrooms with new king size beds, ensuite, walk in wardrobes and private deck access, one bedroom with another new king size double bed, two bunkrooms each with two sets of bunks (sleeping up to 4 people in each bedroom), a double bed and single overhead bunk plus several other single beds in another bedroom, two bathrooms (plus the two-ensuites), two lounges, a large open-plan kitchen-dining-lounge area, a large deck and a huge games room. Living area

The beach house incorporates an open plan living concept with the flexibility to separate kids and adults into their own lounge areas if desired. The kitchen is large and adjoins the open plan dining room and lounges.

Congregate around the large 10-seater Fijian Kauri family dining table for meals inside, or enjoy the evening sun while you eat out on the two outdoor tables seating 12 on the large western deck.



The open-plan living area contains new leather lounge suites (2 x three-seater and 2 x two-seater leather sofas), a stereo system, and a bookshelf with books and magazines. (29" TV and VCR are in the games room.)

Kitchen

The new modern kitchen has everything you need including:
• Stove
• Microwave
• Fridge/freezer
• 2nd overflow half sized fridge with ice box
• Dishwasher
• Jug/toaster
• Pantry (including cooking oil, tea, coffee, sugar etc)
• Plenty of dinnerware, cutlery, glasses etc to cater for 20 guests
• A high chair & plastic plates for toddlers and babies

A four burner hooded gas bar-b-que with hot plate and grill is available for outside cooking on the deck.

Games room

Downstairs there's a large games room where the kids (or adults) can entertain themselves. It has a Foosball table (table soccer), CD stereo, 29" flat screen TV, VCR, 2-seater sofas and it's own ground level terrace. (TV reception is poor so bring some DVDs for the kids.)

Six Bedrooms

There's plenty of room for two or more families to holiday together here! The main living level contains the master bedroom, king double bedroom and kids bunk room. The Third level contains the second kids bunk room and a large bedroom double and six single beds plus there is another master bedroom with ensuite secluded away on the ground floor.

Master King Bedroom 1

Located on the north-western side on the main living level the master bedroom is quiet enabling you to sleep-in peacefully while the kids play in the living room or downstairs in the games room. The new high-quality king size bed plus the gentle sound of the waves breaking on the beach ensures a good nights sleep. Enjoy the privacy of your own ensuite and walk in wardrobe. The bedroom opens out onto the north facing deck enabling you to wake to amazing views and fresh air. One of the children’s bunk rooms is adjacent for piece of mind if you have young children.

Master King Bedroom 2

Located on the ground level, this master bedroom is quiet and away from the main living on the 1st floor. The new high-quality king size bed ensures a good nights sleep. Enjoy the privacy of your own ensuite and walk in wardrobe.

Double King Bedroom

Also on the main living floor, this bedroom also has a new high-quality double king bed and it's own private deck. It's ideal for friends or family to join you on your family holiday.

Bunk Room

This bedroom has two sets of single bunks accommodating up to 4 people.

"Crow's Nest" (Second Bunk Room)

A magnet for kids - they'll be lining up to plead "Please can this be my bedroom?". Located up some steep stairs on the third floor, the bedroom has two single beds and one set of single bunks accommodating up to 4 people. The northerly view from this level is amazing. It's a cute little room kind of hidden away that kids just love!

Upstairs Bedroom

If you have a very large group there is a huge bedroom next to the "Crow's Nest". This has a double bed with a single overhead bunk plus 5 additional single beds.

2 Bathrooms and 2 Ensuites

The house has a main family bathroom with shower and bath, a separate toilet, a second bathroom and separate toilet downstairs and ensuites in the two master bedrooms. The downstairs bathroom is adjacent to the laundry and is ideal for showering off after swimming. No queuing for your shower in this house! We also have a huge non-riplay controlled 250 litre hot water cylinder (a standard 3 bedroom house has 135l) ensuring ample hot water for everyone. However, really big groups or families with "clean" teenagers may need to stagger showers to ensure the hot water can recharge.

Bed Linen, Kitchen Linen, Towels and Cleaning Service Supplied

Bed and kitchen linen is supplied along with bath towels. Our cleaning service takes care of cleaning the beach house, laundering supplied linen and towels and remaking the beds at the end of your stay.

Laundry

The laundry is located on the ground floor. There you will find a tub with hot and cold water and an automatic top loading washing machine and tumble dryer.

Decks and outside furniture

The day deck on the eastern side is awesome to eat breakfast in the sun and to sunbath if there is wind blowing from the south-west (the predominant wind direction). The larger afternoon/evening deck on the north-western side gets the afternon sun through until sunset. A six seater outdoor table (plus a smaller 6 seater table for the kids) provide great outdoors evening dining.

Having decks on both sides of the house means that there’s always somewhere you can get into our out of the sun or away from any wind.

Warm in winter with the wood fire

This is a great place to get away from it all in the winter time too. The house is modern, warm and fully insulated. The wood fire (firewood provided) gives a nice cosy feel to the winter beach experience.

Kids

The beach house and beach is child friendly. For babies and toddlers there's a portable cot and a high chair. Of course, there's the 100 acre sand pit out the front to amuse kids for hours!

Reading

The black cabinet in the living area is stocked with novels and assorted books for all ages. Also there is a selection of lifestyle magazines for your relaxed browsing.

Views

The sea views from the beach house are simply amazing stretching 180 degrees from the harbour entrance in the west, through the amazing huge sand dunes on the other side of the harbour in the north and to the distant Warawara mountain range in the north east. The mountains and sand dunes change in colour and intensity as the sun moves across the sky. And the sunsets as the sun hits the sea in the west are to die for. These panoramic photos don't do it justice and make the landscape look further away than it really is!

Access to beach

The beach is an easy 100m walk down from the house. It's made up of lovely soft white sand with patches of river stones that become exposed at low tide. On very hot days there is nice shade under the trees. It's relatively safe for swimming, ie doesn't go deep quickly and has only small waves, if any.

Fishing

Both Opononi and Omapere feature deep-water wharves which are ideal to fish off. Kids love it! There's also great surf casting off Opononi Beach. We provide you with a couple of fishing lines for fishing off the wharf!
