This photo is taken 10 metres from the front french doors showing part of the beach view. It's quite mesmerising just relaxing while looking at the views, whether from the front deck or from indoors. Windows in the family room extend over 220 degrees around three walls so that the beach and sea views are fully accessable from indoors. Check out the gallery for some of the views from inside.![]() The BeachThe beach is only 10 metres from the front door! It's lovely white sand with a very gentle incline into the sea. It's as safe as you could get for small children. Swimming is safe with small waves, no rips or undertow (except waves are large in rare easterly storm conditions) and it only gradually gets deep. The main Oakura road goes past the back of the house and there's a small single lane roadway along the front of the house which is used to access the 7 baches to our north plus locals launching their boats at the end of the bay. It gets little traffic but toddlers need to be accompanied across it to the beach."Arrived at night in the half light...""...and woke up to ‘wow’! Sun skipping over the blue water and a wide expansive bay flanked by islands and green. A true NZ beach experience." Tom, Liz and Lucy, AucklandHouse layout![]() |
