Hi I'm Doug. I'm lucky enough to have been holidaying in the Whangaruru region since the early 1970's. My parents bought a bach around 1975 and we boated, fished, dived, water skiied and built fabulous memories until they sold it for their retirement in the late '80s. Our kids were toddlers when we tented in the Whangaruru South Camping ground for a few years before establishing our own beach house. They're now adults who continue to return to this special place.
Oakura Bay has many fond memories of growing up for myself, our family and many others who have been fortunate enough to spend time there and fall in love with this wonderful place.
With a passion for the internet and photography I've built this website for myself and to share a sense of this special place in paradise.
